Some very beautiful work. I also love photographing nature, especially birds. Hearing the bird songs on your home page is very welcoming. Photography is the only way I can express myself artistically. Would you mind sharing how you created the artistic section?

OMG! I've never seen a black chipmunks before, and had no idea they existed. How lucky you are to have one at your home! That has to be the cutest animal I've ever seen, I love him! It makes me smile to know that you and your husband appreciate him Cindy, he is so special :-)

I read your website post 'for the love of birds' and felt an instant kinship with you. I too have loved birds my entire life, and I feel that I'm standing by your side listening to them sing!

@Martin: I'd be more than happy to share some of our favorite birding areas with you. We spend many hours in our local haunts and I do know them well.. as well as the birds that can be found there. We're fortunate to live in an area that is home to many species of birds. Spring can't come too soon, it's my favorite time of year when the birds return ..Appreciate your nice words, thank you :)
@Janice: Thanks! And yes, I was the photo art moderator at NPN for about 5 yrs. Image critique forums are helpful to beginning photographers, and I did enjoy my time there, (as well as making many great friends) but I rarely visit the site these days. And yes, I choose authenticity! :)

Your photos are like a breath of fresh air, weren't you a moderator at the nature photography.net forum at one time? I came very close to joining that website yrs ago, but I find most forums seem to stifle creativity. I like the badge on your blog that states "I choose authenticity!' So do I!

I did a websearch for your photography after viewing a few of your photos on the Smithsonian website. What a grand portfolio you have! I live in Indiana and plan on making a trip this spring for migrants. I'd love to pick your brains for some areas to visit for birds, you obviously know how to find them! Beautiful photos Cindy.

Tom, I replied to your email- hopefully I can be some help with your moth id's. I have quite a few 'unknowns' of my own yet, and some are so worn or the photos are so poor that they may always stay that way :)

I followed your link from flickr and am I ever glad I did. Your textured pics are so beautiful and I love your dog! What breed is he? He looks so much like one of my grandfathers hunting dogs.
